HS2 in turmoil after official report
A highly critical report has cast doubt over many aspects of Britain’s HS2 high speed rail project. The independent National Audit Office, which reviews government expenditure, has published a report, originally due last month, but held over to allow the general election to be conducted. The report is scathing in its criticism of the oversight of the project by the Conservative government, who were removed from office in a landslide swing towards the left-wing Labour Party.
