TRU: New director for North England rail scheme
The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU), the UK’s multi-billion pound railway electrification scheme for the north of England, has a new managing director. James Richardson, who has been working on HS2, was yesterday charged with overseeing the billions of pounds allocated to the massive rail project. Taking up the job in the new year, it will be his task to resolve the headaches of cost increases, delays, and operational disruptions that have plagued the first part of TRU’s delivery.
