Madrid train derailed ‘on purpose’ to prevent collision: transport minister

Sunday’s train derailment in Madrid, which caused chaos on the Spanish rail network this weekend, was instigated, Spain’s Transport Minister Óscar Puente has told journalists, on purpose by an Adif employee in a bid to avert the risk of a collision with other trains.
