Germany: what a new Coradia Max reveals about one state’s unique approach to regional rail
Alstom has finished the first of more than a hundred Coradia Max electric trains at its Polish factory in Chorzów and has sent it off for testing in Germany. Alstom’s largest ever order for Germany, the massive consignment of EMUs is set to significantly upgrade the rolling stock of one of the country’s richest states, Baden-Württemberg. It also happens to have one of Germany’s most innovative public-private models for buying and leasing trains at a regional level. Award winning transport professor Paul Salveson explains.
