Pier Eringa appointed CEO of ProRail

Pier Eringa (53) will be ProRail’s new CEO from April 1. Eringa is currently Chairman of the Albert Schweitzer hospital in Dordrecht and his previous roles include those of Chief of Police, Director of Public Transport and Town Clerk. Patrick Buck, who has been acting CEO in recent months, will return his full attention to his role as Director of Projects at ProRail after Pier Eringa’s induction period. The Supervisory Board is very grateful to Buck for the involved and energetic manner in which he has led ProRail in the months following the departure of Marion Gout-van-Sinderen last July.

Challenges

Eringa is looking forward to the challenges waiting for him at ProRail. “ProRail is a fabulous company operating right in the middle of society and plays an important role in the mobility of the Netherlands. I am looking forward to working with the ProRail team on quality improvements. I feel most at home in a complex environment, where decisiveness needs to be combined with diplomacy, listening and connecting.”

Pier Eringa has been Chairman at the Albert Schweitzer hospital in Dordrecht, a large leading hospital with 4,000 employees, since 2010. In 2013 and 2014, the Albert Schweitzer hospital was named Best Hospital in the Netherlands in the AD Hospital Top 100 list.
