Adif to invest 17 million in new Bidebieta-Basauri station
Adif announced the tender for the construction of the new Bidebieta-Basauri station on the C-3 commuter line, linking Bilbao and Orduña, with a budget of 16.99 million euros.
The project encompasses three key actions under the integration plan: the construction of a new passenger building on the deck, comprehensive remodelling of the station’s platform tracks and platforms, and extension of the track covering the deck northward. These interventions aim to enhance the functionality and accessibility of the facilities while promoting urban integration of the railway within the municipality.
Concurrently, Adif has tendered a technical assistance contract for the supervision and monitoring of these works, amounting to 3.67 million euros. The project will span approximately 1.1 km on both sides of the current Bidebieta-Basauri station, beneath the Lehendakari Aguirre Avenue underpass and beneath the San Fausto Square.
The new Bidebieta-Basauri station aligns with Adif’s commitments to the Basauri Municipality for improving accessibility, functionality, and integration into the new urban fabric, fostering more sustainable mobility and cohesion within the San Fausto/Bidebieta neighbourhood and the municipality.
