Alstom to build new Elizabeth Line trains

A lifeline order has been secured for Derby’s Litchurch Lane engineering works. The famous railway works was on the brink of closure. The order book was empty. However, the site is now set to build ten more trains, starting almost immediately. Alstom, the current owners of the site, has secured a £370million GBP (€430million) contract for additional Elizabeth Line trains and a long-term maintenance agreement.
