Poland’s Central Communication Port (CPK), a mega-project to build a new Warsaw airport and a nationwide high-speed rail network, is launching consultations with European railway operators. The goal is to develop timetabling and regulations for commercial and public service obligation contracts aimed at opening up Poland for long-distance and international transport. There will also be a special focus on moving away from state subsidies in favour of liberalising the country’s rail transport market.
