Lightwood gets UK government light rail brief

Politiician Simon Lightwood has been appointed to the post of minister for light rail and local transport UK Government

The ministerial team at the Department for Transport has been completed with the appointment of Simon Lightwood as the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Local Transport. The brief however is anything but lightweight. In addition to the governmental responsibility for light rail operations, the post also carries an extensive list of responsibilities, covering everything from e-scooters to governmental relations with Transport for London.
