A united Irish rail: Dublin, Belfast lay out €35bn three-decade strategy

Ireland and Northern Ireland’s transport ministries have set out a new strategic vision for developing the rail system across the entire island in the coming decades. The All-Island Strategic Rail Review presents 32 strategic recommendations to upgrade and expand the rail system by 2050. The thirty-five billion euro plan includes bringing in faster trains, and more of them, with the goal of almost tripling the number of passengers in 30 years.
