UK rail minister Peter Hendy allegedly got an award-winning railway engineer fired for talking to the media about safety issues at one of the country’s busiest transport hubs. The engineer has since accused the former chair of Network Rail of misconduct, saying his recent appointment as “the architect of the UK’s new rail industry structure” is now “untenable”.
