Europe’s top rail firms back Draghi ‘EU competition’ report

Europe’s largest railway operators have “warmly welcomed” a major EU report by ex-Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi on European competitiveness – particularly its support for major funding of the bloc’s rail network. But the document, expected to be the backbone of the bloc’s new industrial strategy, may be less popular with Member States trying to keep their short-term finances in check.
