France operating in Spain; Spain operating in France. The EU’s push towards liberalising Europe’s rail is in full swing, and Renfe is taking advantage: it will relaunch an international high-speed service between Barcelona and France’s fourth most populous city, Toulouse, starting from next year. That means the Spanish state-backed rail operator will soon be running services to eleven French cities.
