‘Antiquated’: German lobby slams govt’s 2040 rail forecast

Germany’s most important rail coalition, the Pro-Rail Alliance, has ripped into the government’s new 2040 traffic forecast, claiming that its policy approach is at best “antiquated.” Instead of taking hold of the future, the rail lobby says the government is adapting policy to projections, as opposed to implementing changes to shape the coming 15 years. According to the Alliance, “we don’t need a Ministry of Transport that prioritises forecasts over political goals.”
