Deadly storm DANA upends Spanish rail traffic
At least 70 people have died in Spain’s deadliest flooding in three decades after torrential rains devastated the country, especially in eastern Valencia. Much of the region’s rail lines have been submerged, causing severe disruptions to train traffic, with Adif suspending the Madrid-Valencia high-speed line indefinitely. In fact, the flood essentially cut the region off from rail, and now there are further warnings that storm DANA is about to hit Catalonia.
