RailTech Academy starts on 8 April

ProMedia Group launches the RailTech Academy, a series of online courses. The courses are meant for railway professionals who are interested in broadening their knowledge on various topics of the industry. The first course of the RailTech Academy will take place on 8 April.

“In these extraordinary and challenging times, it is important that we continue to develop as a sector. We want to contribute to this with the new RailTech Academy. It is a new platform which brings together railway professionals in an online environment,” said Marieke van Gompel, RailTech editor-in-chief.

The first session of the RailTech Academy is focused on an Introduction in Railway Systems. It will take place on 8 April. Jean Rousseau, railway engineer at IKOS Consulting, will share his knowledge on the following topics:

  • History of railways;
  • Railway equipment;
  • Rolling stock;
  • Introduction on signalling.

Classical signalling & ERTMS

The second session of the RailTech Academy will take place on 15 April. It will be dedicated to the classic signalling solutions and the European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS). This plenary will be also arranged by Jean Rousseau and will be devoted to the following topics:

  • Risks in railways
  • Signalling
  • Automatic block signalling
  • Onboard signalling
  • Interlocking
  • ERTMS: an introduction

Become a trainer
