1 million euro funding boosts for rail electrification innovation efforts
The UK government has allocated 1 million pounds (1.68 million euros) to Furrer+Frey GB, the British division of the Swiss rail engineering firm, to spearhead innovation projects aimed at slashing the costs of rail electrification while curbing carbon emissions. This funding forms part of the initiatives under the Global Centre of Rail Excellence (GCRE) based in South Wales.
