Israel Railways to enlarge double-deck fleet up to 586 coaches
Bombardier Transportation will supply 74 additional Twindexx Vario double-deck coaches to Israel Railways. Delivery of this batch will be accomplished by December 2021. The new order will allow Israel Railways to increase its double-deck fleet up to 586 coaches.
The brand new contract is worth 147 million Euros. It is a part of fruitful cooperation between Israel Railways and Bombardier Transportation. This agreement is an option of the 2010 deal that made Bombardier Transportation the largest rolling stock supplier to Israel. “We are very proud to have signed a seventh consecutive order with Israel Railways, a result of exemplary collaboration and customer intimacy. It is a testimony to the superior quality and reliable performance in customer service of all coaches delivered up to this point,” said Michael Fohrer, President for Central and Eastern Europe and Israel at Bombardier Transportation.
